2026 Kerala Boat Race Schedule
The 2026 Nehru Trophy Boat Race, Kerala’s premier snake boat competition, will be held on August 8, 2026 (second Saturday), at Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha. This major event, or “Olympics on Water,” attracts thousands to witness traditional chundan vallams (snake boats) racing on the backwaters.
- Champakulam Moolam Boat Race: Estimated for early July 2026 (around July 7–10), marking the start of the season on the Pamba River.
- Nehru Trophy Boat Race: August 8, 2026, in Alappuzha.
